Our Mission
Is to work together as a collaborative group towards creating and maintaining fire resilient landscapes, fire adapted communities, and safe and effective wildfire response in the Swan Valley.
What are Fire Adapted Communities?
Fire-adapted communities safely and effectively extinguish fire when needed; use fire when allowable; manage their natural resources. Fire-adapted communities consist of informed and prepared citizens collaboratively planning and taking action to safely coexist with wildland fire.
“It takes a village…”
We are grateful for the individuals, neighborhoods, organizations, and agency wildfire professionals working to create Fire Adapted Communities in the Swan Valley and beyond. Below is a list of helpful local resources:
Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC)
Flathead National Forest
Swan Valley Connections

Lake County
Fire Adapted Montana
Swan Valley Emergency Services
And thank you to the community members and others working to be better prepared for wildfire!
